As mother of the bride (or groom), you're up early for hair and makeup, standing for the ceremony, posing for photos, greeting every guest and, hopefully, dancing. That's a lot of hours for your feet.
Match the metal to your outfit
- Navy, black or jewel tones: silver or clear rhinestones.
- Blush, champagne or nude: champagne or soft gold.
- Florals and prints: pick one colour from the print and match it.
Choose a low, steady wedge
A wedge of around 3–5 cm gives you a little lift for the photos, and it's far more stable on grass, gravel and dance floors than a thin heel.
Insist on a back strap
You'll be walking, hugging and dancing. A strap at the back keeps your shoe on without your toes having to grip.
Do a test run
Wear your shoes around the house for a couple of hours a week before. Bring a pair of soft flats in your bag for the drive home.
Our picks
We love The Soirée Wedge in champagne or silver, and The Sunday Jewel Wedge for darker outfits. After the big day, our massage roller is a lovely treat for tired feet.
